New Caledonia is an exotic French overseas territory. The Islands lie in the southwest Pacific Ocean on the Tropic of Capricorn. The Melanesian Islands comprise of the Loyalty Islands, with the Capital of New Caledonia at Nouméa on the Island of Grand Terre. The official language is French and the Islands have much to offer for visiting Sailor's and Tourists.

The Island of Grand Terre is 60 miles long and almost 44 miles wide at the North part of the Island. The Island is mountainous with an altitiude of 5,340 ft at the highest point. The east coast of the Island is very tropical and lush, with extraordinary natural beauty with mountains dramatically plunging into the sea. The west coast has a more temperate climate.

The Barrier reef surrounding the main island is the second largest in the World. The seas have a huge and varied Marine Life, featuring the World's largest Lagoon. The Island is very popular destination with beautiful White Beaches, emerald colored seas, cool Mountain Retreats, French Restaurants and a glamourous Night Life from the Island's Capital Nouméa.
