mexico - puerto vallarta

Puerto Vallarta or PV, is 20 degrees North of the Equator on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. It is located in the Bahia of Banderas, to the south of the entrance to the Sea of Cortez. It is a very beautiful location with constant sunshine and beautiful beaches. It is a great loaction for sighting dolphins and humpback whales in the Autumn and Winter.

Puerto Vallarta became famous when "The Night of the Iguana" was filmed here in 1963, starring Richard Burton and Ava Gardner. Burton was having an affair with Elizabeth Taylor which caused a huge scandal, which transformed the former fishing village to International status. The Arnold Schwarznegger film "Predator" was also filmed here in 1986 in the Jungle that surrounds Puerto Vallarta.

The Resort has excellent connections with the Mainland US, Canada and Europe with the International Airport. There are lots of festivals and events held here throughout the year as well as the Annual Puerto Vallarta Film Festival held every November.
