Pescara

Pescara is a busy City located in the Abruzzo region on the East coast of Italy in the central Adriatic Sea. It is quite a young city and the capital of the Abruzzi region with a population of approx. 140,000 inhabitants. The City has one of the most Modern Tourist Ports in the whole of Italy for its size and construction.

Pescara is divided into two by the River Porto Canale, with the Centre of the City lying on the north side of the River and Pescara Porta Nuova lying to the south. A large Road Bridge connects the two parts of the city near the Yacht Club. The Harbour is used by Cargo Ships, International Ferries and a large fishing fleet.

Pescara hosts numerous International Events, such as the Acoustic Musical comedy festival, the International Jazz Festival along with a competitive racing calendar for the local fleet of Yachts. Pescara is famous for the local Poet Gabriel D' Annunzio with a University and a beautiful monumental theatre dedicated to the great Pescarease Poet.
