Hendaye

Hendaye is a pretty frontier town joining Northern Spain, located at the bottom of South West France. It is in the South East corner of the Bay of Biscay in the Basque region, 43º North and almost 2º West of Greenwich. Hendaye has excellent water sports activities and transportation links, by road, rail and the nearby Airport of Biarritz.

At Hendaye, there is Golf, Diving, Sailing, Fishing, Climbing, great Basque Cuisine and an excellent selection of Wines from this famous worldwide region. There are many beautiful beaches north and south of Hendaye and the area is popular in late August with Surfers from around the World in search of the Big Atlantic Swells and light offshore winds.

The town and harbor area are ideal for families with a nice selection of cafes, shops, restaurants and activities that can be visited, within walking distance. Bayonne, Biarritz, Hondarriba, Hossegor and San Sebastian are all quite close to this seaside frontier town for day excursions by Car or Boat.
